THE ARB ADVANTAGE
Built tough and proven reliable, ARB Canopies are manufactured from UV stable recyclable ABS thermoplastic, making them a dependable and reliable solution. Environmentally friendly, the majority of canopy materials are recyclable to help reduce unwanted landfill and waste. Components such as the strong yet lightweight ABS shell, the window and door glass, steel mount rails, alloy bed rails, window frames and roof bow are all recyclable.
With an extensive range of accessories available, including canopy mounted roof bars or racks, security mesh and vent options the ARB Canopies can be tailored to suit any vehicle or individual requirement.
Supported by a full 3-year warranty 60,000km warranty, ARB canopies are manufactured and assembled to extremely high standards ensuring optimum fitment, strength, and reliability. Our canopies are supported by a comprehensive 3-year warranty and spare parts are readily available in case of accidental damage from ARB Europe’s main warehouse in Prague, Czech Republic.
DEVELOPMENT AND TESTING
Developing a canopy from a blank canvas meant that ARB was required to validate new designs and put them through a rigorous testing regime. Utilising a combination of software, laboratory and real world testing, the canopy team performed validation simulations using the latest software through Finite Element Analysis (FEA) in CAD along with real life testing of a complete canopy in our specially built thermal chamber with temperatures up to 90°C. Further laboratory testing was undertaken on latches, actuators and relays via special ARB made life cycle rigs.
To certify the design against water entry, canopy engineers utilised several high pressure water washing facilities. The most rigorous of testing was done on the test track in Anglesea, Victoria, where the canopy and vehicle were put through corrugation testing, high speed testing, articulation and the renowned Belgian blocks. A long term assessment vehicle was utilised to perform field testing on new mount rail configurations and the attachment system. Following numerous months of testing it passed with flying colours.
Classic Plus Canopy

The Classic Plus Canopy range includes a central locking rear door with electronic handle door that incorporates keyless entry and slam-shut operation.
Available as a standard height roof version in smooth, painted exterior finish, customers may choose from our side sliding or side lift up window configurations which are positioned low on the canopy shell to maximise access into the cargo area.
Product Specification
Central locking is operated via the vehicle key FOB, which unlocks and locks the rear door and allows access via the electronically operated exterior handle. Inside the canopy, housed in a new interior door cover is the emergency override handle allowing operation of the door even if the vehicle battery is flat. In the event of an emergency situation such as a flat battery, the rear door can also be overridden from the outside with the supplied separate emergency key.
Side lift up windows maintain the standard mechanical twist lock D handles and are locked and unlocked via the supplied keys (separate to the emergency door key).
The front canopy window is a lift style to allow maximum rearward vision and easy access to clean the vehicle cabin rear glass.
The rear door is a full 3D curve design, manufactured from grey tinted tempered safety glass to EC43R standards. Each rear door is fitted with a high mount LED stop lamp, a forward facing interior light and specially selected gas assist struts with low opening force suitable for a climate range of -20°C to 90°C. From a serviceability point of view, the rear door glass can be replaced independently of the door frame which will greatly assist in providing an economical solution for consumers if an accidental breakage occurs.
ARB’s unique laser cut steel mount system is bolted directly to the existing vehicle hard points located at the front and rear of the vehicle tub to form a solid foundation for the canopy whilst additional brackets have been added to the rear of the side bedrails to support the rear door frame and door strikers.
ARB canopy shells are made from a special co-extruded ABS plastic for strength and durability. The ABS is inert and with suitable venting is safe for the transportation of animals. Being a recyclable material, we have the opportunity to reduce the amount of landfill at end of product life.
